Columbus is one of the most pet friendly cities in the United States. We allow pets in parks,
streets, and have special parks just for them! In addition, there are a number of events that
happen here every year where pets are welcome.

RIVERWALK- The most spectacular of parks, the Columbus riverwalk is over 10 miles of trails
alongside the mighty Chattahootchie. Pets are allowed on leashed, and trash recepticles for
waste are prevolent. Much of the walk is shaded, and there are many benches to relax and
socialize. Click here for more details. Photo used courtesy of Riverwalk, Columbus, GA.

FLAT ROCK PARK- This park has a wonderful middle area perfect for dogs (on leashes), with
rocks, water, and shady areas. It's on warm springs road, and has ample parking. Also great
for a barbeque. To see pictures of this site,

SPECIAL PET FRIENDLY PLACES

Bruster's ice cream sells a "doggy sunday", for $0.75 which is a bowl of frozen yogurt plus a
dog biscuit in the middle. On a hot summer day, your dog may love this treat! Many Bruster's
have outdoor grassy areas for you to sit with you dog as you both enjoy frozen treats.

Greystone Apartments allow pets, and they have more units than just about any other
apartment complexes in town. What makes them special are their enclosed dog walk and play
areas, their waste bags and recepticles for residents, and their bathing areas. They also try to
ensure that neighbors don't all have pets, to keep it quieter for residents. 1-866-327-6518

KENNEL CLUBS AND BREEDERS

We support the Columbus Kennel Club. They're a friendly group of locals that are dedicated
to pet health and breed quality. In addition to the social aspects for humans, your dogs get a
chance to "socialize" as well. Please check them out at
Columbus Kennel Club.

We also have met the breeders of Forever German Shepherds and recommend them for
those looking for German Shepherds that are bred to avoid hip displasia and other health
issues that plague poorly bred Shepherds.
They are advocates of responsible breeding and
pet ownership.
If you are interested, give them a look!

PET TRAINERS

When taking your pets out into the community, make sure they are well behaved. These are a
couple of our favorite Dog Trainers in Columbus.

Harvard's K-9 Center. They offer both obediance and agility, which keeps your dog minding
and exercised. We like her gentle approach to training. www.harvardsk9center.com.

Jerry's K-9 Training. They do all breeds, and do Personal Protection, Obediance, and service
dog training. Jerry's a bit of a local celebrity, and has trained many Sports Stars and Celebrity
dogs. www.jerrysk9.com  or 706-575-6799.
